A couple could be defined as the union between two people who have decided to maintain a stable relationship over time. These individuals are people who bring with them all their emotional, social and cultural baggage, that is, each one is a complex system with experiences and values that make them unique. When problems arise within the couple, in most cases individuals can solve them using the resources available to them. Many times, however, they fail to reconcile their conflicts or contradictions. When that happens they can end the relationship and follow each one their way, or they can seek help to try to resolve conflicts that they can not manage on their own.
Couples therapy is a way to find the sources of their conflicts or problems and, based on this knowledge, decide what they want to do, whether to continue together and resolve conflicts, or to separate and follow their path each one on their own.
