Where do psychological and emotional disorders come from?

Psychological and emotional disorders very often have their origin in childhood being the result of the baby's or child's efforts to adapt to the environment and their demands. The typical causes of disorders in the adult are physical or psychological abuse, physical or emotional deprivation, isolation, loneliness and hardship in general.

Some psychological and emotional disorders are the result of more recent traumatic experiences although the individual’s capacity to cope with those experiences will more often than not be conditioned by the emotional resources acquired in early life.
