Post-Traumatic Disorders

When people have experienced a shocking, scary or dangerous event they can develop a state of post-traumatic stress in which the affected person may feel stressed or frightened even when he or she are not in danger any more. If these feelings continue over time, the person may have PTSD accompanied by more or less severe symptoms that do not disappear on their own.
